Fabrication and Virtual Design Construction

Nickle Electrical Companies uses its pre-fabrication shop to build electrical components in-house for seamless and accurate installation at all job sites. The benefits of pre-fab and VDC include production in a controlled environment, increased level of safety, speed of install, a more organized work site, consistency and accuracy of install, flexibility, fewer errors and greater efficiency resulting in financial savings, and a reduced timeline. Our fabrication space totals approximately 30,000 square feet at our Newark, DE location and averages a dozen office staff and shop employees at any given time, overseen by Nickle’s Pre-Fab & VDC Design Manager who has more than three decades of experience in the electrical construction industry. Our team works with each department, from Estimating to Project Management, for layout and design of each project to best utilize VDC coordination and pre-fab.

Pre Fab

The Nickle VDC team utilizes computer software to visualize and create models of projects before they are constructed, replacing traditional hand-drafted design documents. It not only allows the design team to see a realistic picture of the project but also the functionality of the structure.

With computer-aided design, the ability to see a 3D model of a project allows Nickle to detect potential problems before construction begins. This greatly reduces the hassle of adjustments to costs while in the middle of wiring a project. Fewer errors means a high-quality project is completed on schedule and under budget.

What are the benefits of using Fabrication and VDC?

These techniques save time and money and also streamline processes, enhance productivity, and significantly reduce errors. With this technology, job information is easily shared between each company involved in a project, resulting in more accurate cost estimates, schedules, compliance, and reduced risk.
